“Jah-Sin Tatum? How You Say The Name?”: Paul George Hilariously Trolls Charles Barkley’s Speech Pattern

Paul George has been lauded for starting up his own ‘Podcast P’ towards the end of the 2022-23 NBA season. Despite the fact that it’s only been a couple months since he’s entered the podcasting realm, fans have become enthralled with his takes, even placing him up there with the likes of JJ Redick. Most recently, George’s impression of Charles Barkley has led to fans commending him for doing a solid job at the impression.

George and Chuck have had history in terms of the latter going at the All-Star talent for calling himself ‘Playoff P’ at one point in his career. George, for all the times he’s been in the postseason, hasn’t ever reached an NBA Finals. Barkley questioned the legitimacy of this nickname ‘bestowed’ upon George.

“You can’t call yourself ‘Playoff P’ and lose all the time. They don’t call me championship Chuck,” said the Hall-of-Fame big-man.

Paul George has an impeccable impression of Charles Barkley

Paul George has brought on a slew of interesting guests onto his podcast as of recent such as DeMar DeRozan, Karl Anthony Towns, and Jalen Green. What makes his show so entertaining however is the fact that PG himself is just as entertaining without the help of other guests.

In a recent edition of the pod, one of his co-hosts asked him to impersonate ‘Inside the NBA’ analyst, Charles Barkley. For how less he spoke in his ‘Chuck’ voice, George did a solid job. He even did a classic Barkley trope where he mispronounced a player’s name, something Chuck has done on numerous occasions.

George, having grown up in California, got the perfect Southern accent to imitate the Philadelphia 76ers legend. In all fairness to Barkley, his co-host, Shaquille O’Neal, is also known for mispronouncing athlete’s names on a regular basis.

Paul George gave his thoughts on the Jordan Poole situation

When DeMar DeRozan came on the ‘Podcast P’ show, him and Paul George discussed why Jordan Poole, after having a career year last season and signing his extension, descended so far down in his improvement.

DeRozan used the example of Michael Jordan and claimed that even he had ups and downs in his time on the court. MJ, while he would have off games, never had a whole season and postseason where he didn’t show up like Jordan Poole. PG-13 however, seemed to resonate with the Compton native example.
