James Harden spoke via video call with John Hao while he was hospitalized and offered words of encouragement. After learning that John Hao was a fan of his, James Harden made a donation on his behalf.
The Beard also promised him that when healthy, he’d send him tickets to a Philadelphia 76ers game. And he’s followed through on his words after learning that Hao is now up and about.
Hao can expect to bear witness to one of the most pivotal games in the Beard’s career. Harden has long been fruitlessly in pursuit of an NBA championship, coming agonizingly short on a number of occasions.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Harden and his foundation stepped up to support those in need. In partnership with a local restaurant, he provided meals for frontline workers and those experiencing food insecurity.
