"Just jack up 3s all night": NBA legend Charles Barkley goes on epic NSFW rant about the 3-pointer explosion in Mavs vs Warriors during halftime on Inside the NBA

The Mavs and Warriors combined to shoot 93 3-pointers on the night, and Charles Barkley was totally frustrated to watch the game.

The Warriors blew the Mavs out by 30 points after trailing at halftime by 2. This was enabled thanks to an amazing 3rd quarter, in which they outscored the Mavs 36-20. There was little the Mavs could do to contain the likes of Kelly Oubre and Steph Curry.

Oubre had himself a career night, going off for 40 points on 14-of-21 shooting. Oubre made 7 of his 10 3-pointers and added 8 rebounds, a steal and a block apiece. The Mavs only had Kristaps Porzingis scoring efficiently on the night – the Latvian had 25 points in 25 minutes.

Charles Barkley goes off on a typical NSFW rant about the modern game

Old-timers positively hate the 3-point explosion over the past 8 seasons, and with ample reason. There is little variance, if any, in shot types any more. Charles Barkley seemed to be hinting at the same thing when he said:

“I’ma be the old man, get off my lawn. Y’all sit there and watch this stupid a** basketball. Just jack up threes all night, they go in, we win, they miss, they lose. Give me a break you dumba**es.”

It was a shootout of epic proportions between the two sides, especially in the second half. Now, the Warriors shooting a ton of 3-pointers makes sense since they have Steph and their biggest ‘center’ on the night was 6’7″. The Mavs should, however, have taken advantage of their superior size.

Instead, the Mavs shot 50 3-pointers, eclipsing the Warriors’ attempts by 7. Golden State still made 2 more of their 43 attempts, going over 50% from range.
