Coming off a huge 128-103 win over the Atlanta Hawks, the Memphis Grizzlies played some of their best basketball on Thursday night. They grabbed a HUGE victory against Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Milwaukee Bucks.

The Greek Freak had a subpar 19 points, 6 rebounds, and five assists performance. On the other hand, the reigning Most Improved Player went on to record a sensational 25-point, 10-rebound, and 10-assist triple-double. All that in merely 26 minutes of action.

Ja Morant takes shots at Charles Barkley on social media
For those who aren’t avid Morant supporters, the 2020 ROTY is known for being pretty active on social media. On several instances, we’ve seen the high-flying guard go at his naysayers on Twitter.
After Memphis’ emphatic 41-point win against the Bucks, the 6-foot-3 star decided to take shots at Charles Barkley.
Almost a month back, after the Grizzlies’ loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, Sir Charles made a controversial statement about Morant’s inability to lead his squad. On November 15th, the TNT analyst said:
“The next evolution for Ja is that he’s gotta learn how to make the players around him better. When you’re a great player, you can get your shot anytime you want to. I don’t think he’s added that to his game yet. Sometimes when you make a play, you gotta be thinking, ‘I can go around this guy but I need to get this guy going’.”

As discovered by a Reddit user, Ja has even improved his APG from 6.8 (in 13 games) before Chuck’s comment to 9.4 since (in 11 games).
Morant leads the Memphis Grizzlies to the #1 spot in the West
Thanks to this blowout victory, and NOLA’s OT loss against the Jazz, the Memphis Grizzlies are now the best team in the Western Conference with a 19-9 record.
While many players are to be credited for the Grizzlies’ success, Ja Morant deserves the most recognition. Having suited up for 23 of the team’s 28 games, the All-NBA player has been putting up career-best 27.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game.
Yes, Morant and co. are sitting on the top-most position in the West. However, with the Pels only one game behind, the Nuggets 1.5 games behind, and the Suns 2.5 games behind, the Tennessee-based franchise can’t get too comfortable.
