Most NBA superstars gain notoriety in one of three ways. Either through their game, their social media presence, or a healthy mix of both. Well in Kawhi’s case, while his game is amazing, the man has zero to little social media presence. Not to mention, his personality and character more often than not come across as incredibly dry.

Over the years, Kawhi Leonard has gained quite a reputation for himself. His status as a Top-15 player aside, The Klaw is known for his somewhat “dry” personality. A narrative that stems from his lack of interaction online and with the media.
However, this is far from the truth for those he is close with, like Jamal Crawford. J Crossover has been friends with Kawhi for quite some time now. And, on the Dan Patrick Show, he revealed that the former two-time Defensive Player of the Year is a very funny person.
“He’s an unbelievable guy. Very funny. He’s very talkative, very fun, and very normal. So, if you go to Kawhi’s Twitter right, I’m one of six people he follows. From way back in the day. It’s crazy…it’s like Wingstop, Jordan, and me. It’s like…it’s crazy because I’ve known him for a long time. And, he’s been the same…he’s always been very about his business, about getting better, and very funny! He’s always been very funny!”
To be honest, no matter what Crawford says, it’s always difficult to associate the word funny with Kawhi Leonard. But, then again, he did have a hilariously viral moment a few years back.

And while it is a known fact that he isn’t much of an internet or media guy, his Media Day appearance went viral. Why? Because it featured an iconic moment where his laugh was caught on camera. And, it was infectious!
Just goes to show, you never judge a book by its cover, and as hard as it may be to believe, perhaps The Klaw is as funny as Jamal Crawford says.
