Most players in the NBA had the longest time off from basketball over this past year due to the pandemic. The 8 teams that didn’t go to the Orlando bubble only started practices at an individual level in September. It’s clear that many of them are only just getting up to speed.
The Lakers and the Heat have had the shortest offseason of the 30 teams in the league. They’ve only had 2-3 weeks of respite from play after finishing the NBA Finals on October 11.
That doesn’t, however, mean they’ll take less time to ease into midseason form and fitness though, as Kuzma found out.
Intense practice session with Draymond Green leaves Kyle Kuzma on the cusp of throwing up
During a private practice run Kuzma had with Draymond last week, the former was at risk of throwing up. He admitted as much on his Twitter handle in an update that he’s deleted since.

Kuzma is heavily involved in trade rumors over this offseason. He was not much of the scoring threat he was made out to be during his first 2 years. Kuzma averaged just 8.5 points per game in the Finals, and throughout the playoffs he had poor shooting splits.
The Lakers are engaged in active talks on a deal to acquire Oklahoma City’s Dennis Schröder, which would send No. 28 pick in Draft to the Thunder, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Both him and Danny Green are possible makeweights on the trade the Lakers seem to have readied for the Thunder’s Dennis Schroeder. Kuzma has been wanting to get the bag and it’s unlikely that Lakers Nation will offer him the wages he wants with AD and LeBron on the roster.
