Nike makes and sells millions of shoes from its Kyrie sneaker line every year. But it seems Kyrie Irving didn’t approve this year’s designs.

The Kyrie sneaker line has been one of Nike’s better-performing sneaker lines since the first model released in 2014. Many consider the aesthetic of the shoes to be among the best of Nike’s products.
What also helps sales for this shoe line is its price range. Kyries are typically available in the $100 range at release. Discounts could drive the prices down as low as $50 during end-of-season sales, at this time of the year.
However, not all shoes from the line have been received by the market with the same levels of enthusiasm. Some Kyrie releases have also been widely panned in the past. The Kyrie 5 shoe designs were especially criticized for being too similar to Kyrie 3s.
And it seems that they haven’t been involving the mercurial Nets star in designing their latest releases. Or at least, that’s what the buzz on social media is all about.
Kyrie Irving allegedly criticized new Nike Kyrie leaked pictures shared on Instagram
Ballislife reports that Irving had commented on some leaked pictures of the Kyrie 8 shoe. These shoes are typically released a few weeks into the regular NBA season schedule. The release date for Kyrie 8s should, thus, be sometime around November this year.
However, given the buzz around him as a player and the shoe line in general, Instagram sneakerheads seem to have found some leaked pictures of the Kyrie 8 release. And they weren’t pleased with it.

Now whatever happens in the aftermath of this, there’s one thing we know for sure. Kyrie has never let these issues go unnoticed by the media and always takes care to put his version of the story out.
We await some clarifications from the Kyrie camp regarding whether this comment was by him or not.
