"Kyrie Irving bought a house for George Floyd's family": Stephen Jackson praises Kyrie's good deeds during his mysterious absence from the Nets squad

Stephen Jackson reveals that Kyrie Irving gifted a house to George Floyd’s family after his tragic passing at the hands of police officers.

Former Warriors star Stephen Jackson spoke about Kyrie’s contribution to George Floyd’s family. This was in a recent interview on Etan Thomas’ podcast. Stack Jack was well known for his involvement in the ‘Black Lives Matter’ protests in 2020.

Being a close friend of Floyd’s, Jackson had made it his personal mission to voice the concerns of the black Americans with regards to police brutality. Similarly, Kyrie Irving spoke out regarding racial injustice and undertook several initiatives in furtherance of the same. Both Kyrie and Jackson were instrumental in mobilizing their communities to share their stories.

Why Kyrie Irving and other black athletes rallied around BLM

No police officer involved in the George Floyd murder has been convicted. With that being said, many icons of the black community such as Kyrie Irving, Lil Wayne, Barbara Streisand have done their part in helping the family recover.

The NBA faced a possible shutdown in this past month after the verdict for the Jacob Blake indictment came through. In that case as well, the Kenosha PD police officer Rusten Sheskey will not be facing proceedings. Sheskey shot Blake 7 times in the back in the presence of his 3 kids in the back of Blake’s car.

These incidents served to stir up a whole nation to march against police brutality and racial profiling. It is a well-known fact that black people are much likelier to be pulled over on the street. They’re also likelier to be put through vigorous checks and frisks at airports than the white majority.
