LeBron James and Jimmy Butler Sulk Together as Losers All Because of Hip-Hop Artist Drake's Influence

LeBron James and Jimmy Butler aren’t in particularly bad places at the moment. Of course, we mean aside from the fact that they’re both filthy rich by doing what they love. No, we mean that, despite both of them losing their respective game 2s, they did still manage to steal a game away from home.

However, given that they did in fact win their respective game 1s rather convincingly, it had many fans believing that these franchises just couldn’t lose game 2. After all, momentum is a thing. And especially in the playoffs, it’s a tough thing to fight. And yet, both of them suffered defeat.

However, was this nothing more than a coincidence? Or was there an ancient, evil force at work here, that made it impossible for them to win?

The Drake curse makes its wild return, much to LeBron James and Jimmy Butler’s chagrin

For years now, Drake has been betting on various sports teams to win certain games. And unfailingly, his team of choice has always lost. Initially, it seemed like a coincidence, then a little bit of a joke. But now, nobody is laughing anymore… or at least nobody is within the Heat and Lakers’ fanbases. Take a look at the tweets below.

Lakers vs Grizzlies ended with a score of 93-103. A disheartening loss for sure, but not nearly as bad as how bad the Heat had it. They lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, with a final score of 122-138. This without Giannis Antetokounmpo. And Jimmy Butler’s team was down by almost 30 at the half. That’s horrible. Nay, that’s the Drake curse.

What did LeBron James and Jimmy Butler record in their respective losses?

In 28 minutes played, Jimmy Butler recorded 25 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, while shooting 8 of 12 from the field (66.7%), and 2 of 4 from three (50%).

On the other hand, in 39 minutes, LeBron James had 28 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Additionally, he shot 12 of 23 from the field (52.2%), and 1 of 8 from three (12.5%).
