LeBron James and Maverick Carter have been appointed as the first black partners with FSG. This makes them part owners of the Boston Red Sox.

LeBron first established a relationship with FSG when he bought a minority stake in Liverpool. The 6-time European champions have become 12 times as valuable as they were in 2011, reaching a market valuation of $3billion from nearly $250 million back then.
James will be declared as a minority owner of the Red Sox pending review by the MLB. Joining him in that vaunted position would be Maverick Carter – his childhood friend and business partner.

What is the relationship between LeBron James and Maverick Carter?
Carter has been LeBron’s business manager since 2006. He and James also founded SpringHill Entertainment, a collaborator of Warner Bros.
Carter has produced projects like the Disney XD series Becoming, the Starz series Survivor’s Remorse, the NBC game show The Wall, the Bleacher Report spinoff Uninterrupted, and Space Jam: A New Legacy.
In 2011, LeBron James accepted a 2% stake in Liverpool FC through a business deal with Fenway Sports Group.
The investment has increased in value from $6.5M to $44M.
Now, with RedBird Capital investing $750M in FSG, LeBron James has been named a partner.

There is little doubt that the 2 have been very productive together. Obviously, being associated with LeBron James has been the difference in Carter’s success story. The two will serve as an example of 2 friends who made it from the bottom to the top.
