'LeBron James can't call himself the GOAT': Skip Bayless slams Lakers star for unacceptable stat; praises Kawhi Leonard

Co-host of ‘the Undefeated’, Skip Bayless brings up a stat which he believes removes LeBron James from ‘The GOAT’ debate.

Everyone who has watched and followed the NBA for a while knows Skip Bayless is not a LeBron James fan. Anytime LeBron James messes up, or has an off night, Skip is there to make a statement about it. The hate is quite apparent, but every once in a while he does make some thought provoking statements.

As of late, LeBron James has been in really good form. The Lakers recently broke out of their 2 game losing streak, as they edged past the Celtics 96-95 yesterday. Skip recently had made a comment on LeBron not wanting to take a shot in the final few minutes of the Celtics game. Skip is back again, as today he brought up a stat which according to him, should strip LeBron of having a shot at being GOAT.

“How can LeBron James be GOAT with such lousy FT shooting?”: Skip Bayless

LeBron James is not the best free-throw shooter around.

All throughout his career, LeBron James has averaged 73.4% from the charity stripe. Skip Bayless made a tweet slamming James’ low free-throw percentage. He drew a comparison between LeBron James’ free-throw percentage to that of Kawhi Leonard’s. Skip wonders how many points LeBron has costed his teams by having a low free-throw percentage.

Skip is trying to imply that because the Lakers star has a low free-throw percentage, he isn’t as ‘bankable’ in clutch situations. ‘The Undefeated’ host has time and again pointed out how the Lakers lack a sure shot ‘closer’, something that is sure to impact them going into the playoffs this season.

LeBron James is shooting career-lows from the free-throw line ever since he made his way to Tinseltown. James shot 73.3% from the FT line during his 11 seasons in Cleveland.

In Miami, James was making 75.8% of his free-throws. Since the last 3 seasons, James has made only 68.2% of his free-throws. He is shooting at his LA best at 71% this season. While LeBron may not be the best from the Free-Throws, he makes up for it by the other additional things he does.

For Skip to rule LeBron out of the GOAT contention based on this one stat makes no sense.
