LeBron James Gets Teary-Eyed After 18-year-old Bronny James Takes Another Step Towards a College Career: "My boy Signed"

Sierra Canyon graduate Bronny James recently announced his commitment to play for the USC Trojans. Bronny is a four-star prospect who was courted by some of the top universities across the US. His father, LeBron James, has been reported to be highly supportive of the decision. Earlier today, the 19-year-old Bronny signed the Letter of Intent (LOI) to join USC.

The LA Lakers star took to Instagram to congratulate his eldest son on the occasion. He wrote an emotional post and appeared very happy with Bronny’s decision.

LeBron James gets emotional as Bronny signs letter of intent with USC Trojans

LeBron James, who has been extremely supportive of Bronny’s career thus far, congratulated his son on Instagram.

The King announced that Bronny had signed his LOI, and claimed that he was extremely happy and proud. An LOI indicates the student-athlete has agreed to attend the chosen college. The LA Lakers star himself never attended college and was understandably emotional and supportive of his son.

Bronny James will sign for a stacked team which will also be shored up by DJ Rodman, former NBA star Dennis Rodman’s son. A letter of intent establishes a student’s intention of enrolling and is done alongside the submissions of the individual’s educational background.

The Trojans will tip off their season on August 26th with a clash against San Jose.

Bronny James expected to play alongside his father in the NBA

The general expectation in recent times seems to be that Bronny James is headed to the NBA. A number of established stars including DeMar DeRozan and Paul George have been full of praise for LeBron’s eldest son.

The 38-year-old himself claimed in a tweet that Bronny was already better than a number of NBA players. DeRozan seemed to go a step further, claiming that Bronny could be better than 75-100 current NBA players.

USC head coach Andy Enfield also claimed that both of Bronny’s parents, Savannah and LeBron, had been very supportive so far. The 53-year-old claimed that Bronny was capable of adding huge value to the USC Trojans, owing to their lack of depth at the guard positions. Bronny is equally capable on both ends of the court, and will only improve with time.

A point guard by trade, Bronny has been praised for his high IQ and has plenty of time to improve. Bronny will be eligible for the 2024 NBA draft, and LeBron James still seems to have a few more years left in the tank.
