LeBron James is a force of nature. Time and again, season after season, he has proven to be one of the most formidable players in the league. Known to be a pass-first guy and not a pure scorer like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, he still stands second on the all-time scoring list.

With LeBron James on the brink of breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record, we are here to help you track when LBJ will finally outscore the Bucks legend.
NBA’s official tracker predicts that Bron will surpass Kareem by February 7th in a game against Oklahoma City Thunder. However, if you take his current season’s points per game into account, James will break the record by February 5th vs the New Orleans Pelicans.
LeBron James 6 games away from outscoring Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 38,387 points tally
With his latest performance against the Clippers, LeBron James is just 177 points behind Kareem. His 46-point performance has pushed his scoring tally to 38210 points.
Moreover, James is currently averaging 30.28 points per game. If he can maintain this scoring output, James should be able to outscore his predecessor by his 6th game.
The excitement for LeBron chasing this prestigious milestone is through the roof. Kareem set his record in 1989. Since his retirement, no player has even come close to the record except for the Lakers’ 6ft 9″ superstar. In fact, there are just 5 more players other than LBJ and Kareem who have scored over 30 thousand points.
It’s safe to say this event will be once in a generation sight. LeBron is about to accomplish something that was believed to be unachievable.
King James may be the first player in history to reach 40,000 points
James’ longevity is unheard of. At 38, he is still playing like a 20-year-old athlete. In fact, in many ways, LeBron is outperforming even his younger self. Seeing how quickly he reached Kareem and how his output has only increased from his past seasons, James is definitely not stopping any time soon.

Apart from Kareem’s record, King James is just 1790 points from reaching the 40,000 mark. No player in history has reached 40,000 points in regular seasons. But if anyone can, it’s James.
If he can maintain his current scoring averages, LeBron will reach 40 thousand points in just 60 more games. And if he does, it’s hard to imagine anyone breaking the record.
Do you think LeBron James will reach 40,000 points?
