"Can't wait to see LeBron James and Russell Westbrook shoot bricks from the 3-point line": Skip Bayless takes a dig at the poor shooting of the Lakers' superstars ahead of the 2021-22 season

Skip Bayless takes to Twitter to berate LeBron James for ‘not wanting’ to take the final shot to beat the Boston Celtics last night.

The Los Angeles Lakers barely survived their run-in with the Boston Celtics last night as they botched their final possession and were one Kemba mid-range fadeaway from losing the game. They ended winning 96-95.

The Lakers couldn’t buy a bucket in the final 2 minutes of the game as the Celts inched closer and closer to closing the gap. They almost completed the 7 point comeback in the final 100 seconds of the fourth.

The Lakers were given many chances to ice the game but capitalize on the oppurtunities. LeBron James wasn’t all too great down the stretch as his final bucket of the game came at the 4:40 mark of the fourth. He would go on to miss his next 2 shots.

Skip Bayless says that the Lakers need a closer as LeBron James doesn’t want any part of being that.

Skip Bayless immediately took to Twitter to bash LeBron James and the Lakers for nearly throwing the game away towards the end of regulation.

In all fairness, LeBron did attempt a 3 with 50 seconds left but happened to miss. He remained aggressive throughout the fourth quarter but just couldn’t make a shot.

Deferring to Anthony Davis to take the final shot of the game isn’t really a sign that the Lakers need a closer. LeBron and Davis have proven on several occasions that they are more than comfortable with taking and making the game-clinching shot.

The Lakers broke their two game losing streak with a win over the Celtics. They will be looking to capitalize on this momentum through their game against the Atlanta Hawks.
