Coming off an impressive win against the Knicks at the Basketball Mecca, the Mavericks are back to being an +500 team as Luka Doncic continues to lead the league in scoring. The Slovenian native had yet another stirring performance despite a rusty start in the first-half, having a game-high 30 points.

Fortunately for Luka, who has been lifting most of the load this season, Tim Hardaway Jr. seems to be finally getting his rhythm back, with the win against the Knicks being his third consecutive game with 20+ points. Thus one hopes he continues to only get better with time.

Recording his sixteenth game with at least 30-points, Luka was welcomed with MVP chants at the Garden. One of the front runners for the MVP award, the 23-year-old is averaging 33.4 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 8.6 APG, and 1.9 SPG while shooting an efficient 50.6% from the field.
Addressing the media recently, Mavericks coach and Hall of Famer Jason Kidd revealed how Luka was amongst the great, revealing similarities to LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.
“He has a lot, I think, in the sense of LeBron”: Jason Kidd puts Luka Doncic in elite company.
There is no doubt that Luka is a generational talent, his 5-season NBA experience being evidence of it. The former ROTY has etched his name in terms of statistics, breaking records constantly. In what many believe, the Mavericks guard is a mixture of LeBron James and Magic Johnson, given his all-round abilities as a player who can shoot, assist, and rebound.
However, Coach Kidd had a slightly different take believing Luka had the IQ of King James and the Skill Set of the late Kobe Bryant. Addressing the media recently, having the following to say.
.@luka7doncic draws comparisons to Kobe Bryant & LeBron James from J-Kidd:
“He’s 1 of 1. He has a lot I think in the sense of LeBron, he’ll tell you can jump like LBJ too. I think his IQ as he competes he wants to win. That makes him special.”

“You can look at LeBron, you can look at Kobe, you can look at the greats that will their teams to victory and never complain. That’s what we all love about Luka. He doesn’t complain just goes out and finds a way to help his team win.”
While there is no denying Luka’s capabilities, it’s high time the front office found him some help.
Mark Cuban and the Mavericks front office need to reduce the load off Luka Doncic.
Despite having a host of stellar performances from Luka, the Mavs haven’t been able to capitalize to the optimum. The former EuroLeague MVP continues to do most of the heavy lifting in a 5-on-5 sport.
It’s high time the Mavs front office provides Luka with the necessary aid, otherwise, there exists a high possibility of the 6ft 7″ guard wanting out soon, something we had experienced in the case of King James when he was in Cleveland.
