Drafting Joel Embiid is easily the best decision the Philadelphia 76ers have taken in a long while. The 7ft center is one of the best talents in recent times. He is a master of his craft capable of absolutely dominating the offense.

Embiid’s ability to move like a much smaller man makes him unique. At 7ft, he is almost graceful, capable of weaving around defenders and making some tough shots.
And offensive and defensive force, Embiid is one of the most valuable athletes in the league. Yet, he is ranked 6th on the MVP ladder by NBA staff writers. A Detroit Pistons player is not too happy with the media’s ‘bias’ against the Sixers star.
Nerlens Noel believes Joel Embiid deserves to be in the MVP conversation
Nerlens Noel plays center for the Detroit Pistons. But he started his career with the 76ers and even played a few games alongside Joel Embiid. In a recent interview, the 6ft 11″ role player called out the media for not acknowledging his former teammate.
As per 76ers insider Keith Pompey, Noel believes that the media undermines Joel. He suggested how the top scorer from last season has also been putting up MVP-worthy performances this season.
Pompey: “Pistons center Nerlens Noel, a former Sixer, on Joel Embiid: “I don’t know why he’s not higher up there in the MVP votes. Somehow the media doesn’t show enough love, but you can see it every time he’s out there, he gives his all.”
Currently, Embiid is behind Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant, Luka Doncic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Sixers fans agree with Nerlens Noel
Without a surprise, Philadelphia fans agree with Detroit’s center. They also believe Joel Embiid deserves to be higher on the MVP ladder.
If NBA players voted on who wins the MVP, then Joel Embiid would win. It’s clear players in the league love and respect his game. Not the media tho. https://t.co/9f3gxlVPxh

Let the players who actually play these dudes night in and night out vote on these things instead of the dorky ass media https://t.co/iLQdSmi1hz

It’s so petty at this point in his career. Completely turned me off to the NBA.

To be fair, this season is witnessing exceptional individual performances. Ths scoring has been off the charts lately and it has become all the more difficult to ascertain who the best is. As the season progresses, there may be a clear distinction between the top contenders.
Perhaps, we might see Joel Embiid in the top 3. Maybe if he doesn’t miss any more games, that will be a huge possibility.
