"Michael Jordan Will Be My GOAT Until The Day I Pass Away": 'Snubbing' Best Friend LeBron James, Dwyane Wade Vehemently Declared Who The Greatest NBA Player Is

The debate on the greatest basketball player to ever lace up continues to be a raging one. The argument has come down to two major candidates, LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Some fans have attempted to sneak Kareem Abdul Jabbar into the conversation as well. However, the Lakers legend is often overlooked in the argument by modern day NBA fans. Between the Bulls icon and the Lakers superstar, the former is still considered to be the favorite in the debate by a slim margin. Unfortunately for James, even his best friend Dwyane Wade seems to not be on his side on this one, as he once emphatically dismissed James’ case for the GOAT title.

James and Wade have been one of the NBA’s most lethal duos. The two were drafted the same year(in 2003) and went on to become close friends during practice sessions for Team USA. Eventually, their partnership resulted in Gold at the Olympics, a superteam in Miami, two NBA championships, and a brotherhood likely to last a lifetime.

Dwyane Wade reveals Michael Jordan to be his GOAT till death

Dwyane Wade has made it a habit to back LeBron James no matter what argument he is in. An example of how much he adores his friend and appreciates his greatness is this interview clip posted by ‘The Hoopaholics’ below.

However, despite all his appreciation, the Miami Heat legend just can’t seem to put LeBron above Michael Jordan, the frontrunner in the GOAT debate. Here is what he said on the matter, as seen in the tweet by @DiehardCBfans.

“Michael Jordan is my GOAT! I’m not taking anything away from LeBron[James]. LeBron is amazing, but Michael Jordan is my GOAT. [Michael Jordan] will be my GOAT until the day I pass away.”

It is important to note that Wade is from the city of Chicago. He grew up during a time when Jordan was at the peak of his powers playing for the Chicago Bulls. So, there could be a fair bit of bias here.

Wade once discussed James’ most reckless story

The 2011 NBA Finals were a bust for the Miami Heat superteam as they lost against the Dallas Mavericks. Despite being the clear favorites, Miami completely flamed out in the Finals, losing in six games.

To get away from the frustration of the loss, Wade and James went on a vacation with their respective families to the Bahamas. And there, after discovering a pool below the balcony, James decided to dive right in.

Of course, diving into a swimming pool is no big deal. However, James dived into a 9ft deep pool, being the behemoth of a man he is, from a high balcony. Read all the details of this story as revealed by Dwyane Wade, and Rachel Nichols’s emphatic reaction to it here.
