“Scottie Pippen Was a Great Surprise in Barcelona!”: Dream Team HC Chuck Daly Once Revealed How Bulls Legend Left Him in Awe
Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen aren’t the biggest fans of each other anymore. After all, with all that beef between them now, how can they? No level of friendship can survive whatever is between them right now.
However, once upon a time, these two were the perfect duo. While one player played the point forward before the role was even invented, the other simply went haywire scoring the ball.
And that fails to even mention the defensive prowess of both these men in their hay day. In fact, it probably was a day to be thankful for if even the best finished up a contest against them without being humiliated past any limits.
However, at the end of the day, Michael Jordan was appreciated a lot more than Scottie Pippen. In fact, it was to the level that even legendary coach of the Pistons and the USA Dream Team was unable to see the brilliance of Pippen. At first at least.

Bill Simmons’s Book of Basketball revealed how Chuck Daly felt about Scottie Pippen during the 1992 Olympics
Scottie Pippen can often be a bit underrated in terms of just how incredible he was in his playing days. Unfortunately, the man has the greatest player of all time to thank for his situation.
However, as Bill Simmons revealed in ‘Book of Basketball’, Chuck Daly, was able to see past the sheen of Michael Jordan, to see just how good the Bulls’ second-best man was.
Take a look at the excerpt in the tweet below.

Bill Simmons’s ‘Book of Basketball’ is a pretty famous book. And yet, this little bit right here isn’t nearly talked about as much as it should.
In fact, if there has been any real conversation about how MJ needed his teammates at all within the NBA community, it has been because the man himself kickstarted it.
Scottie Pippen once claimed Michael Jordan was very dependent on his teammates
Of course, we don’t mean emotionally.
No, this was more in a basketball sense, where Scottie Pippen insisted Michael Jordan needed everything handed to him on a plate, and hence could not be the GOAT. Instead, he named a rather controversial athlete for the crown.
You can read all about it right here.
