The entire basketball world celebrated the 45th birthday of Kobe Bryant and “Kobe Day” on the 23rd and 24th of August. Several of his former teammates, past legends, and current stars of the game shared photos of the Black Mamba. While a majority of the people shared some of their good memories with the Los Angeles Lakers icon, Dwight Howard decided to troll himself while honoring Bryant. Just hours later, Shaquille O’Neal uploaded the clip of the same incident that 3x Defensive Player of the Year mentioned.

Dwight Howard was one of the most vicious defenders in the league. In his prime, there wasn’t a better shot blocker than the 6-foot-10 Center. However, long before he won any accolades for his intimidating defense, Kobe Bryant caught him in a poster. During a Los Angeles Lakers-Orlando Magic contest, the 6-foot-6 Guard “baptized” the rookie. Using the ‘canon event’ reference from the latest Spider-Man movie, the big man revealed how the embarrassing moment fuelled him to win three DPOYs.
Shaquille O’Neal shares a clip of Kobe Bryant posterizing Dwight Howard
NBA on TNT recently shared eight iconic Kobe Bryant moments over his illustrious two-decade-long career. As seen in the embed below, the clip in the second slide was Kobe’s iconic poster on Howard from 2004.

O’Neal could’ve selected any of the other seven clips to post on his story. However, selecting this particular clip, while honoring his former teammate, Shaq has also managed to take shots at Dwight Howard. Keep in mind that Shaq has had a beef with Howard for the past several years now.
Shaq mocks Howard once again
The Big Aristotle has had bad blood with several players ever since he joined the NBA in 1992. Dwight Howard is merely one of the many on the long list of players whom Shaq has beefed with. The Diesel initially hated the fact that Howard tried to copy his schtick.
With O’Neal’s recent social media activities, it felt as if their long-lasting quarrel was about to reach its end. Initially, Shaq agreed with Dwyane Wade about Howard’s inclusion in the NBA’s top 75 players list. Later, the TNT analyst shared a reel that praised the 2020 NBA Champ. However, with this latest dig at Howard, it doesn’t seem as if the animosity between them has reached its conclusion.
