Damian Lillard has been catching a lot of flak for endorsing new head coach Chauncey Billups due to his previous rape allegations.

The Trailblazers decided to go in a different direction this offseason, parting ways with long time head coach Terry Stotts. To replace him they brought in former Pistons star Chauncey Billups.

Damian Lillard, an avid fan of the Pistons back in the day, was certainly thrilled with the signing, but this was something fans didn’t particularly like.

He had a back and forth with one fan on this very issue:

Dame isn’t done though as he posted a very cryptic Tweet in response to the backlash he’s been facing.

Damian Lillard Has A Cryptic Message To His Fans In Response To Chauncey Billups Signing

Damian Lillard had a response to all the negativity he’d been facing, sending a message out, potentially to his fans.

He’s definitely taking a shot at someone, but it’s not entirely clear who he’s talking to. Lillard had this Tweet to send out to everyone:

Is he talking about Chauncey Billups changing after his rape allegations? Probably not. Why would he endorse the signing of his head coach and then go on to say that he’s been wearing a mask (hiding his true self).

No, he probably means his fans. He might be referring to the ‘fake love’ they’ve showed him as they’ve seemingly turned on Dame regarding this whole situation.

Some fans were sympathetic to Lillard’s situation, but Dame wasn’t one to go head-over-heels over some support.
