“Somewhere, Michael Jordan Is Chuckling at Lebron James”: Skip Bayless Taunts Lakers Over 4x NBA Champ Losing Show In Clutch Time
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have lost yet another game. For the gold and purple, this season is turning out to be even more humiliating than the previous one. The latest loss is perhaps the final blow for an already struggling squad.
It’s hard to imagine a Lakers comeback from this point. They just lost to Charlotte’s traveling circus after all. The Hornets, although a talented young squad, is undoubtedly one of the weakest teams in the entire league. Yet, the Lakers lost to them in a game that saw both teams score 130 points.
In the immediate aftermath, Skip Bayless swooped in to take the opportunity to discredit LeBron James yet again. Unfortunately, this time, there is nothing LeBron and Lakers fans can say to him in response.
Skip Bayless taunts LeBron James following the shoe blunder
After the game, Skip Bayless took shots at the Lakers and their leader, LeBron, for losing to the Hornets. He mentioned Michael Jordan, a comparison he often brings against James, and mentioned that he is laughing somewhere.
The comment was definitely directed at James because Michael owns the Charlotte Hornets. With LBJ’s recent season, his claim at the GOAT contention had been picking up steam. however, with this loss, Skip Bayless perhaps thinks even MJ is amused by the Lakers and LeBron’s blunder.

Bayless also went on a rant over the last minute between Charlotte and LA. He wrote via his Twitter:
“I’VE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE: Down 2, LeBron drove it as he should have. Not sure whether he was about to shoot or pass. BUT HE THREW A SHOE! His left sneaker came completely off! Was it not tied tight enough? LeBron kicked to Schroder, who missed corner 3. Lakers lose.”

Charlotte had a close call against the Lakers
The Lakers remained on Charlotte’s heel right until the end. They even tied the game at 130 points with just 42 seconds remaining on the clock. However, the lousy defense from them immediately led to the Hornets scoring 2 quick points on a goal-tended shot.
The Lakers had another opportunity to tie the game with 6 seconds remaining. But LeBron James slipped while driving and his shoe came off. He then passed to Dennis Schroder who missed an open corner three.
With Anthony Davis injured and out indefinitely and now Thomas Bryant also seemingly injured, the Lakers are likely done for the season. Only a miracle can carry them to the playoff.
But considering their recent misfortune, any such miracle seems unlikely for the once glorious franchise. The way Rob Pelinka butchered the squad with his awful trades will haunt the team for years to come.
Despite giving LBJ his 4th championship, this era will always be remembered as the Lakers who wasted LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ potential.
