"Steph Curry is drawing a lot of attention from defenses": Blazers' Damian Lillard explains why Warriors star has been less effective this season

Blazers star Damian Lillard explains why Stephen Curry hasn’t looked like his deadly self for the Warriors this season.

What do you see when you hear the name, Stephen Curry? Is it the first unanimous MVP the league has ever seen? Is it the heroic 40-foot shot against OKC to edge the Warriors to a 121-118 OT win? Or do you remember the time he became a 3-time NBA Champion?

Over the past decade, Stephen Curry has done a lot, and is still doing a lot. He recently joined an elite club, as he became only the 3rd player ever to make 2500 3s or more.

However, this season we did not see the god-like Steph we are used to seeing. The shooter who was free to pull up from wherever he wanted. The playmaker who could weave his magic and make jaw-dropping plays. All of that seems to be lacking this season. Stephen Curry has seemed more mortal this season. Damian Lillard takes out time and explains why this could be so.

“He’s getting a lot of attention from defenses”: Damian Lillard on Stephen Curry

Damian Lillard joined Warriors Pregame Live. There he went on to break down why Stephen Curry hasn’t looked his usual lethal self. Dame believes Steph is not getting the quality looks he is so used to.

“I think right now, with the injuries that the Warriors have been dealing with and Steph playing with a younger team right now, he’s seeing that it’s tough to get those quality looks right now.”

“It’s different than what it’s looked like over the last four or five years for him,” he continued. “He’s trying to get quality looks and get a clean look so he can make a good one.”

Lillard and McCullom blew the Warriors out 123-98 today. Steph and his young Warriors would look to regroup and come back stronger at the Blazers in their back-to-back match on Sunday.
