The Warriors continued their topsy-turvy start to the season with a blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns. The Arizona outfit was without its best scorer in Devin Booker last night. But Chris Paul took over right from the start of the game, and the Suns were able to attain separation in the 3rd quarter.
The Warriors had one of their worst offensive nights of the young season thus far. Apart from Steph Curry, who netted his usual 27 points on 10-of-20 shooting, the rest of the team had just 2 scorers above 10 points. Andrew Wiggins had a somewhat passable game with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
The rest of the team all shot blanks on the night. Oubre returned to what has now become a real shooting funk, going a terrible 1-of-11 from the field. Kevon Looney and Draymond Green, the other two starters, had only 2 points each. Paschall was the only player apart from Steph and Wiggins in double digits.
Draymond Green reacts to technical foul call by refereeing crew
Draymond has made a name for himself as one of the biggest moaners in the NBA. He was in his element against the Suns once again, chomping at the bit after what he considered a terrible ruling.
Green ended up chastising the officiating crew with a dirty look and these words: “Ya’ll gotta stop acting so emotional.”

If the supporting cast continues to underwhelm in this fashion, Curry will be faced with a season-long race to the playoffs. The Warriors are clearly short on offensive ammunition. On certain nights, they have their defensive mojo going and can eke out results. But in most games, they will be needed to shoot a whole lot better than their average outing thus far.
