Jordan Poole, everybody. The Warriors’ young star had a largely efficient night, recording 21 points, 6 assists, and 1 steal, while shooting 7 of 15 from the field (46.7%), 6 of 11 from three (54.5%), and 1 of 1 from the free-throw line (100%). But just as it was about time to hang it up and call it a good game for the 23-year-old, he decides that pulling up from 30 feet out with 10.6 seconds left on the game clock is a good idea. And justifiably, it had both Channing Frye and Taylor Rooks in absolute shambles about his decision-making. But apparently, Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton had other ideas about the play. And as you will see, that caused quite the commotion on TNT’s live stream of the game.

Channing Frye roasts Tyrese Haliburton as the Pacers guard tries to defend Jordan Poole’s mind-numbing play
As we mentioned earlier, Jordan Poole was 6 of 11 from three during this game, 6 of 10 heading into the potential game-tying three. However, even with that said, a pull-up three-pointer with 10.6 seconds left on the clock, from anyone that isn’t Stephen Curry, or even Klay Thompson is a horrible shot. And evidently, that is an opinion both Channing Frye and Taylor Rooks agreed with on TNT’s live stream of the game.
However, apparently, Tyrese Haliburton decided that it wasn’t a bad shot whatsoever, leading to a bit of an argument between the former and the current NBA player. And with his little one-liner in the end, we have to say Frye enjoyed a resounding victory on this one. Take a look at the clip in the tweet by NBA on TNT below.
.@TyHaliburton22: “I’m not mad at that shot… I would have shot that too” @channingfrye: “That’s why you’re here with us” 🤣

Tyrese Haliburton: “I’m not mad at that shot. I would have shot that too.”
Channing Frye: “That’s why you’re (not in the playoffs and) here with us.”
That right there is beyond brutal. We will say the statement is a bit harsh considering Haliburton is part of a Pacers team that isn’t looking to win now. However, there is no way in the world Tyrese should even be trying to defend that shot. It was one that was beyond a horrible decision. And yet, as unfortunate as it is, this low-IQ, highly frustrating, and foll-hardy play personifies Jordan Poole perfectly.
How did NBA Twitter react to Jordan Poole’s shot attempt?
This shot by Jordan Poole was always going to be a divisive one for NBA Twitter. And sure enough, nobody can seem to agree with each other on this shot.
Horrible shot.
but the lakers did the same thing jacking up a 3 when all they needed was to attack the basket.— Renegade 🦁🔺 (@buballer02) May 3, 2023
In the above tweet, ‘Renegade’ plays both parties a bit here. When it comes to the shot itself, they seem to agree that it was a horrible one. However, they also conceded that the Lakers didn’t follow the right game plan either. So, they basically mean that it was a bit of a lost cause on both sides.

Twitter user ‘Ja’ went in a completely different direction, just questioning what the Warriors’ young star was doing. And of course, he made the obvious point that Jordan Poole isn’t Stephen Curry.
In todays game that’s a shot you take.
— Jay H. McCabe (@JayMcCabe) May 3, 2023
To end this piece, we have John H. McCabe, who justifies the shot by saying that it is indeed the shot you take in today’s game. However, they do seem to miss the fact that the right shooters should be the ones taking it. Either way, you have now seen both sides of NBA Twitter’s thoughts on this frankly abysmal play.
