“Then Lewis Hamilton Took Over!”: Dwyane Wade ‘Fondly’ Reminisces High-Speed Jet Ski Thrill with 7x F1 World Champion

Dwyane Wade has greeted post-retirement life with a new-found energy of adventure and thrill. From spending quality time with his family to having fun with other celebrities, Wade has also been a huge ‘adventure junkie’. In fact, the three-time NBA Champion recently recalled his jet-ski thrills with his partner in crime, the seven-time Formula 1 Champion Lewis Hamilton. In a recent social media post, Wade reshared pictures that showed him having a blast on the waters with Hamilton. 

The friendship between the two sports icons is nothing new. Previously, in an Instagram post shared by Wade’s wife Gabrielle Union, she thanked Lewis Hamilton for sponsoring their vacation to the Red Dunes of Namibia. Moreover, when Wade was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame recently, the F1 superstar expressed his love and admiration for his friend.

In a recent IG story, the former Miami Heat player shared the stills of a jet-ski adventure with Hamilton from over four years ago. The three pictures that the three-time NBA champion had shared, clearly showed that it was scary encounter for him as the speedster handled the jet-ski.

The first picture showed Wade driving the ski seriously while Hamilton laughing in the backseat. However, the second picture showed Lewis taking over the controls. Wade’s face in the picture clearly showed how uncomfortable and scared he was. The 2006 NBA Finals MVP’s IG Story read, “A few years ago…started like this…then Lewis Hamilton took over…ended like this.”

Wade and Union have developed a family-like bond with the Mercedes F1 star. The couple has previously visited several of Lewis’ races to cheer and support him. Wade was at the Mercedes Paddock during the 2022 Miami GP. After cheering him on from the stands of the Monaco GP in 2018, Wade, Union, and Hamilton went out for a yacht vacation as well. However, the highlight of the vacation was Wade and Hamilton’s hilarious dance under the night sky.

Wade was born in a big baggy jeans era, but the former Heat player has a knack for fashion. The grace of Wade’s fashion lies in the ease with which he carries his fashion statements. He recently made the headlines for Versace’s launch of their ‘La Vacanza’ collection in Cannes. The collection is a result of the collaboration between Donatella Versace and pop sensation Dua Lipa.

However, the main focus of the event was Hamilton and Wade having a great time together. The old friends were seen sitting on a table with their wine glasses and lost in chit chat.
