Yesterday was a day to remember for the basketball fans as three of the greatest players were inducted into the Hall of Fame. The list included everyone’s favorite and Lakers heartthrob Kobe Bryant along with his legendary counterparts in Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett.
It has been 15 months since we lost the Lakers legend due to a helicopter crash but the Hall of Fame induction was nothing less than special. Michael Jordan was the presenter at the enshrinement and Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant received the honour on behalf of her husband.
Vanessa’s speech made every basketball fan emotional as she took us back on the journey of the Black Mamba. She started the speech light-heartedly letting people know how Kobe would react hearing his wife praise him in public.
Bryant highlighted Mamba’s passion and drive for the game and how he would still train despite nursing injuries. She shared an anecdote revealing what the fans meant to the Lakers legend. She would also remember him for his exceptional works off the court- starting from winning the Oscar, being a bestselling author and raising four daughters.
“I want to thank him for somehow finding ways to dedicate time to not only being an incredible athlete, a visionary entrepreneur and storyteller, but for also being an amazing family man,” Bryant said. “Dear Kobe, thank you for being the best husband and father you could possibly be. Thank you for growing and learning from your own mistakes. Thank you for always trying to be better.”
Vanessa Bryant gave a powerful Hall of Fame speech which was lauded by everyone
Vanessa only choked up at the end when he directly addressed Kobe. She ended her Hall of Fame speech by saying, “I love you forever and always Kobe Bean Bryant.”
It was a very heartwarming and emotional speech in celebration of Kobe Bryant’s life as an All-time great. It made several people tear up but all of them praised Vanessa for holding her own and delivering a powerful speech for her husband.
