The Lakers have made some astute moves this offseason. Many people would grade them as having made the best free agent signings of all 30 NBA teams. They look primed to repeat their dominance from the 2019-20 NBA season.
LeBron James believes the Lakers can repeat in 2020-21
James would be quite satisfied by the Lakers’ work in the offseason. The way they have retooled and trimmed the roster fat has received his approval and admiration. He also focused his talk on staying injury- and Covid-free through the season.
“We can [repeat]. I mean, it’s that simple. We absolutely can. … First of all, it all starts with health. You have to have some luck. You have to have health. If we can stay healthy.”
“We did get younger. We have a 27-year-old point guard [in Schroder]. We got the 27-year-old Sixth Man of the Year award [winner] in Trezz. We got younger.”
“We got Marc, who is a Defensive Player of the Year and his IQ, not only playing against him in the NBA, but also playing against him versus Spain with the national team.”
The Lakers will start their preseason schedule with games against the Clippers on 11th and 13th December, before playing the Phoenix Suns on 16th and 18th December
