“What Nonsense”: Fed Up With Kendrick Perkins’ Stephen Curry Slander, Richard Jefferson Decided to ‘Show Receipts’

Kendrick Perkins is as controversial as analysts these days get. Following in the footsteps of the likes of Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless, Perkins says what he thinks would get him more clout. Sadly, this approach has tarnished much of his credibility. A seasoned defender once, he is now seen as a ‘hot take’ TV guy with no regard for consistency with his arguments. In the most recent episode of NBA on ESPN show with Malika Andrews, Perkins was rudely called out by Richard Jefferson for once claiming that Stephen Curry is the 3rd best guard in the league.

Perkins, after the Steph Curry masterclass against the Kings, went on live TV to suggest that he might be the greatest point guard in history. For a league that has seen some exceptional point guards, this was certainly impressive praise.

However, it was also contradictory of Perkins’ previous comments about Stephen Curry. Richard Jefferson, probably tired of the former Celtics player going back on his words, came back with research to show that Kendrick needs to check what he says.

While on the NBA Today show with Malika Andrews, Richard Jefferson brought back the ‘Richard’s Receipts’ segment. Perkins was also live virtually.

Jefferson first showed the ESPN analyst’s previous claim about Stephen Curry. In it, Perkins was ranking the top guards active in the league. He ranked the Chef at 3rd behind De’Aaron Fox and Devin Booker.

After showing the video, Malika Andrews reminded the 6ft 10″ former Celtics center that they tried to tell him Curry is far better than anyone on the list. Jefferson, however, wasn’t as kind with his words.

Richard instead called the writing nonsense. He then went on a monologue saying that Curry, without any disrespect to Booker, is on a whole other dimension.

This might be a little hard to digest for some, what with the hate the Warriors keep getting for their brand of basketball. But it’s almost as if all of this hate only fuels Steph even more. Time and again, he has proven that he can win over the ‘supposed’ best in the league.

He is easily among the top-5 players of all time. The way he has impacted the game, the manner in which he has succeeded, and the fear he brings to any city facing the Warriors are proof enough of his legacy. Hopefully, the media in the future will be much more kind to Curry and not forget him the way they did with Kobe Bryant.
