2 days ago, the 3-time Finals MVP, Shaq was in the news for trying to explain to viewers why Anthony Davis isn’t a ‘big man’. According to Shaq, centers and power forwards are way too different to be classed in the same category.
With Shaq, the Lakers made it to 4 Finals in 5 seasons, after 3 straight years of elimination in the playoffs. They won a threepeat at the start of the century, with Shaq putting up some unbelievable numbers.
Shaq averaged an ungodly 35.9 points and 15.3 rebounds per game in 3 NBA Finals from 2000 to 2002. He truly was the most dominant player ever at his peak.
Shaquille O’Neal roasted by Charles Barkley for immodesty
During last night’s ‘Outside the NBA’ preseason game show, Chuck and Shaq got to talking about the big men in the league. Comparisons then started to emerge between the best duos in NBA history.
This talk devolved eventually into the best duos in Lakers history. Shaq and Kobe were eventually compared to Magic and Kareem, as is tradition.
Kobe and Shaq are the best duo of all time. Next is Magic/Kareem then probably Bird/McHale. Bron and AD still have a lot to prove. In fact their only “ring” has the most controversy around it in modern NBA history

Shaq refused to be played down, emphasizing that Magic couldn’t have guarded Kobe. He then said that Kareem couldn’t have guarded him, when Chuck shut him down by saying he couldn’t have guarded Kareem either.
Shaq agreed to that, given that he always gives props to the older legends of the game. But he stayed adamant that as a pair, Kobe and himself were more potent than Magic and Kareem.
