The first T20I of the forthcoming India’s tour of New Zealand will commence from January 24 in Auckland. It is worth mentioning that India are touring New Zealand for a full tour after exactly a year.

While they won the ODI series comprehensively (4-1) during their last visit, the visitors ended up losing the T20I series 2-1.

In a role-reversal, India will be playing a five-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series this time around. A full strength squad led by captain Virat Kohli will be looking to make amends especially in the shortest format to put their best foot forward for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia later in the year.

As far as the hosts are concerned, they would be looking to get their act right on the back of losing to England (2-3) in a five-match T20I series in November. Having also not done well in Australia, the ongoing season hasn’t been the best one for them.
