Here are the Twitter reactions on Liverpool moving to the top of the table again.
Liverpool and Newcastle United have produced plenty of classics in the English top flight over the years. The same happened as the Reds edged the Magpies 3-2 in what promised to be an exhilarating contest.
It was the hosts who started the game on a high, but Liverpool calmed things down and took an early chance through their defender Virgil Van Dijk. Trent Alexander Arnold produced a great delivery and the Dutch International ran into the centre of the penalty box to tuck the ball from close range.
Seven minutes later, Christian Atsu scored the scored from the rebound of Alexander Arnold and equalized the score. The lead did not last long when Daniel Sturridge’s beautiful backheel found Trent Alexander Arnold. The English International produced another peach of the delivery to find Mohamed Salah inside the penalty box.
The Egyptian executed a tough technique by using his right foot to find the back of the net. In the second half, Solomon Rondon scored from a set piece to pile pressure on Liverpool yet again. But Jurgen Klopp’s side were not ready to rest on their laurels and played their heart out until the end of the game.
Fabinho was fouled by Matt Ritchie from a promising position. Xherdan Shaqiri’s free-kick found Divock Origi, whose header got a little deflection off Jamaal Lascelles to settle the score in the 88th minute.

Fair play to fans of Man United, Spurs, Chelsea et al, who keep furiously telling us how lucky and sh*t Liverpool really are.
That’ll be the same Liverpool 20-odd points ahead of all of them.
