The One Flaw in Patrick Mahomes' Game that Carson Wentz Can Finally Fix, According to Nick Wright

Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles tear has landed the New York Jets in a predicament as the veteran QB seems irreplaceable at this point. However, former Commanders QB Carson Wentz reckons that he should be able to fit into Rodgers’ shoes. Days before reaching out to the Jets for the QB spot, Wentz reflected on how to remain unfazed by the surrounding pessimism.

Just days ago, QB Carson Wentz made an appearance on ‘The Pure Athlete Podcast’ sharing his story of being undermined for undeserving reasons. However, Carson believes that his endurance helped him to land where he is today. While his words motivated fans and followers, the Jets remained largely unaffected by his request per Ari Meirov’s tweet.

Carson Wentz Reveals His Story of Endurance and Self-Belief

The New York Jets have resorted to a disapproving stance as Carson Wentz mentioned his interest to join them. However, his story shows that he chose to remain unfazed by rejections even in the past. Talking about the same on ‘The Pure Athlete Podcast’, a few days ago, Carson said,

“I had so many people tell me, when I told them I wanted to play professional football. They would laugh at me like ‘Hey you’re from North Dakota, that doesn’t happen’, ‘You’re 5-8’.

Wentz went on to add that he chose a positive mindset over being disheartened by other’s opinions. His strength and belief in himself led him to be one of the known names in the NFL landscape. “I had so many of those negativities when that coach told me. But like do heck with everybody else, I’m gonna keep going, I’m gonna believe in myself,” said the QB.

Carson Wentz was selected second overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent the 2021 season with the Indianapolis Colts transitioning to Washington Commanders in 2022. However, Wentz was eventually benched by the team leading to his exit.

Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan and the Jets Situation

Not just QB Carson Wentz, but also Matt Ryan discussed their availability with the New York Jets, showing their interest to join them. However, a tweet by Ari Meirov shed light on the fact that the Jets are currently happy with Zach Wilson as their starting QB.

Matt Ryan is a notable figure who led the Atlanta Falcons to the 2016 Super Bowl appearance and spent the 2022 season with the Indianapolis Colts. He currently serves as an NFL analyst at CBS Sports but hasn’t retired officially. As it turns out, Wentz and Ryan have faced their share of pessimism and hurdles in the NFL.

However, their current positions made them befitting for the Jets quarterback position. The reasons behind the rejection by the New York Jets remain an area still to hit the light of day. In such a scenario, fans have no choice but to hold on to their curiosity before the Jets provide more clarification.
