"Didn't Ray Rice Beat Up His Girlfriend?": Ravens & Browns Fans Collide After Deshaun Watson's Latest Video Gets Bombarded With "Massage" Jokes

Fans don’t seem to let Broncos passer, Deshaun Watson walk free as they continue to rub salt over past wounds. His inclination towards massage therapy sessions and ongoing civil cases remain hot topics on social media. Recently, the quarterback shared a video of him on Instagram where he was seen working out on a beach. As expected, the video resulted in a meme fest with the Ravens fan base dropping too many ‘massage jokes’ in the comments. In no time, the true Cleveland fans also hopped in to defend their poster boy and threw dirt at the Ravens for hosting players like Ray Rice, who was suspended for assaulting his girlfriend.

NFL players are liable to follow the personal code of conduct whenever they are in public. If they don’t adhere to the rules, then they are bound to face the consequences, something that Watson understands pretty well. Over the last two years, Watson has been entangled in 26 lawsuits filed by various plaintiffs across the country. Due to which, he was made to serve an 11-game suspension and pay $5 Million fine last year. Ravens fans pointed at all these events in the comment section of Watson’s latest video.

Browns fan base has a cheeky response for the entire Baltimore clan

Watson is slowly gearing up to make his way into a new season after a year filled with uncertainties. In an attempt to gain the trust of Cleveland fans, the signal-caller shared an Instagram post flaunting his beach workout sessions. As soon as the video made it’s way to Twitter, netizens instantly bombarded the comment sections with therapy session memes.

After a long back and forth, Browns followers joined the conversation, narrating former running back Ray Rice’s (who played for the Baltimore Ravens from 2008–2013) scandal where he was accused of viciously beating his girlfriend.  “Didn’t Ray Rice Beat Up His Girlfriend?” said one of the fans.

During the 2014 offseason, a video went viral online where Rice was seen knocking out his then-girlfriend, Janay Palmer. The NFL management instantly caught notice of this incident and rolled out a statement suspending the athlete for two regular-season games.

This assault was widely televised on several platforms, with TMZ releasing the raw footage of the incident. The veteran’s NFL career was largely affected by this incident. Eventually he announced his retirement from the pro football arena. This dark chapter was again brought back to life by Browns fans who couldn’t watch their quarterback getting roasted online.

Is Deshaun Watson free from all the allegations?

Out of 26 women who filed lawsuits against Deshaun, 23 agreed for an out of court settlement. While two are still left to reach an agreement. One of the cases is now going to trial, as per the latest reports from USA Today Sports. “Today we filed a motion to put Lauren Baxley’s case on the trial docket, in the Houston court where it was originally filed,” attorney Tony Buzbee said in a statement, per Brent Schrotenboer.

The final verdict on one other lawsuit is yet to arrive. Amidst all this, Watson will start his 2023 season after signing a multi-year, $230 million, fully guaranteed contract. As this is a developing story, readers can stay tuned for more updates.
