“How Bout Them Cowboys!” : Skip Bayless Gets Destroyed by NFL Fans After the Cowboys Lose to 49ers in Divisional Game

Skip Bayless and Dak Prescott

Monday night’s divisional playoff game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys was a nail-biting one. A game that kept fans on the edge of their seats for the entirety of the game. Unfortunately for the Dallas Cowboys, their lasso fell short of securing a Championship game. Adding salt to the would for longtime Cowboys fan Skip Bayless, who is now at the receiving end of trolls for his big claims of glory.

Bayless’ rash attitude when it comes to supporting the Cowboys has finally come back to bite him. When the Philadelphia Eagles won on Sunday, he couldn’t help himself but take a jab at them. He Tweeted, “HEY, EAGLES: The Cowboys will see you next weekend at your place. This time we will have our starting QB and so will you. But at full strength, we are a little better than you. You’ll see. Bye, Eagles, bye.”

Safe to say, his bragging did not go down very well with the rest of the NFL community. Although it is understandable why Bayless was so confident: the Cowboys did manage to tear the Tampa Bay Buccaneers apart. However, the biggest fault in their offense played a prominent role in their defeat. Cowboys’ QB and the league leader in interceptions Dak Prescott, threw 2 more on a very important night.

NFL fans dig into Skip Bayless after the Cowboys lose to the 49ers

Skip Bayless is not the most beloved commentator and analyst out there. In fact, his recent bouts with the more favored Shannon Sharpe have affected his reputation quite a bit. So naturally, his comments after the Eagles’ game, and now the Cowboys’ loss, gave fans the perfect recipe to rain down on Bayless.

Take nothing away from the Cowboys, though. For most of the game, the two teams were neck and neck, fighting tooth and nail for every yard on the field. However, Dak Prescott did the thing he usually does: throw interceptions. Even in such a crucial, high-stakes game, he threw 2 interceptions, which could have very well made a difference for his team.

In a game where many expected his inexperience to play a major role, 49ers’ rookie QB Brock Purdy fared better than anticipated. Although he had no passing touchdowns, he was instrumental in setting up plays that ended up in scoring runs. The 2022 Draft’s ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ has probably solved the 49ers’ QB woes, and is perhaps their best starting option for next year.

For the Cowboys, they should try and think about next season, especially about their QB. In every other regard, they have a competitive team. However, the rest of the team cannot function if the QB hands the ball to the other team. Dak Prescott has two choices realistically. Either step up his game and become a better signal caller next season, or become an expensive bench warmer. Which one will he choose?
