Cam Newton, a.k.a ‘The Super Cam’ had been desperately trying to get back into the arena for quite some time. However, all his attempts seem to have failed, and to date, none of the teams have approached the quarterback. Citing various reasons behind this ignorance, the former NFL MVP claimed that his hairstyle and dressing sense created a hindrance. As expected; his comments sparked a new debate online.

The National Football League is a platform for pro athletes to make a career playing at the highest level of the game. There haven’t been any instances in the past when a potential candidate got rejected just because his hairstyle wasn’t appropriate. In fact, there are no such rules in the NFL policy book that restrains footballers from entering the arena.
Cam Newton explains why he no team is interested in him
Newton’s recent revelations have certainly raised many eyebrows because there are plenty of quarterbacks in the league, who follow their own style and still manage to remain on top. The 33-year-old recently appeared for a one-on-one interaction with Josina Anderson of CBS Sports where he gave a sneak peek into his current lifestyle and explained the possible reasons behind his failed comeback attempts. “It’s been hindered, and I’m not changing,” Newton said, per NFL analyst Dov Kleiman about his dreadlocks and dressing sense.
Cam added: “I hope I’m not being blackballed for that, but I don’t think that’s the situation.”

“People have hinted towards to say like, ‘Cam, we want you to go back to the 2015 clean-cut Cam. But that was a different me. Right now, where I’m at, it’s about embracing who I am.” he added.
The veteran also claimed that people think he scares the audience, but in reality, there are several athletes in the league, who have similar hairstyles. In fact, quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson, and rookie C.J. Stroud all embrace their identities with a similar approach, and Newton is no different.
Will Newton make a comeback in the NFL?
The Auburn product was a first-round pick in the 2011 NFL draft. He rose to prominence with his athletic ability and throwing skills, rushing out of the pocket. He became the NFL leader in rushing touchdowns and etched his name in the record books. However, his productivity declined after 2015, and the Panthers slowly shifted their focus towards other prospects.
Recently, Frank Reich recruited a new signal-caller in Bryce Young, during this year’s draft. Hence, the gateway has almost closed for Cam in Carolina. However, the Commanders remain a hot spot for the veteran star. as they are struggling to find an appropriate candidate to lead the offensive unit. What do you think? Is Newton worthy of making a comeback?
