Jets Backup QB Jordan Travis Calls Out the Media for Its ‘Crazy Narrative’ Against Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers has always been a polarizing figure in the NFL. But what’s remained constant with him is commanding respect from his teammates. Whether it’s mentoring Jordan Love and Tim Boyle in Green Bay or guiding young QBs in New York, Rodgers’ leadership has always shone through. Now, after just one season together, rookie Jordan Travis is the one stepping up for his teammate—calling out the media for its unfair narratives against the four-time MVP.
Reacting to the relentless media scrutiny and online trolls surrounding a recent TMZ video, where Rodgers was awkwardly caught telling a reporter that his only demand for his next team is their desire to sign him, Travis pushed back. He called for the media to stop the negative coverage of Rodgers.
Travis wholeheartedly believes that the Jets QB is far too nice of a person to be presented in the way he is being presented.
“8 is a great person. The narrative is crazy,” he tweeted.

“X” users, for a change, put down their pitchforks for kindness, agreeing with Travis’s take. Some even wondered why it’s always the analysts who seem to take issue with Rodgers while every ex-teammate holds him in high regard.
Everybody loves Aaron Rodgers but the talking heads on tv, not a single player has an issue with him they actually love the guy. It’s so strange

For the majority, however, the media narrative against Rodgers is his own fault. His crime? Speaking his mind and then accepting everything at face value.
The media doesn’t like a player that’s not afraid too speak his mind

It’s because Aaron is a thinker and knows how to research topics and doesn’t just buy what is fed to him.

Respect to Aaron Rodgers’ haters, for they keep on hating. In their eyes, a person can be great while also being manipulative and averse to responsibility.
8 can be performatively smug, holier than thou and just plain annoying but still be a great person technically, yes

Others, meanwhile, thanked Travis for stepping up to Rodgers’ defense while asking for an injury update. For those out of the loop, the former fifth-round pick horrifically broke his leg at Senior Night in Doak Campbell Stadium.
Though the Jets took a chance on him citing his sheer talent in the Draft, the QB’s injury status has seen setback after setback, making him miss the entirety of last season.
Nice to see teammates speak up against the nonsense. Hope your recovery is going well. Looking forward to seeing you get an opportunity!

As things stand, Rodgers intends to play in the 2025 NFL season. But if media reports are to be believed, most teams are apprehensive about signing the QB even though he proved last year that he still has some gas left in the tank.
As of now, the only team that might look into acquiring him is the LA Rams. According to Mike Florio, Rodgers can be a cheap option for LA should Stafford move away this offseason. Considering how Stafford’s entourage has been allowed to discuss with other teams for a potential move, Rodgers to Rams is expected to pick up steam.
