NFL jersey sales: Tom Brady breaks Patrick Mahomes’ record for jersey sales in a single year in 2020.

Tom Brady added to his legendary status after leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Super Bowl in 2020. Brady and the Bucs ran through the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs, blowing them out 31-9. But that wasn’t the only thing Tom Brady beat Patrick Mahomes in last season.

Brady basically built a new fan base after he shocked the world and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency last year. But in only his first year, he led the team to only their 2nd Super Bowl ever, making “Tompa” Bay his very own.

Tom Brady broke Mahomes’ jersey sales record from the 2018-19 season.

Patrick Mahomes set the record for most jerseys sold in a single season when he took the league by storm in his MVP 2018-19 season. But Mahomes lost to Brady once again after Brady smashed that record last season.

Fanatics, the official retailer for the Tampa Bay Bucs also told ESPN that the Northeast is continuing to support Brady when the New England Patriots out of the playoffs.

While the top-selling market for Brady merchandise since the conference championship is Tampa, with Orlando and Miami being the third- and fifth-ranked markets, New York has jumped to second and Boston has fluctuated between third and fourth over the past several days.

We are seeing record-breaking sales from Tom,” Fanatics co-president of consumer retail Jack Boyle said to the New York Post. Fanatics also revealed that Brady’s No. 12 jersey, t-shirts, and additional items have accounted for half of the revenue related to the Buccaneers team.

Brady has the NFLPA’s highest-selling jersey with the Patriots in 2018 and 2019, but his jersey sales skyrocketed 900 percent since he signed as a free agent with Tampa Bay last March. Before his arrival, the Buccaneers didn’t have a single player in the top 50 in NFLPA jersey sales in 2018 or 2019.

Brady and the Bucs looked primed to make another Super Bowl run in 2021 after re-signing all 22 starters from their 2020 season. And if they make it out of the NFC again, we could see even higher numbers when it comes to jersey sales for the 42-year-old.
