Not Wearing Any Socks During Memorable Broncos Clash Costs Dolphins Hero Tyreek Hill a Whopping $7,000

The Dolphins had a memorable game against the Broncos last month. Their 70-20 win turned out to be a blockbuster contest and it all started when Tyreek Hill caught for a 30-yard touchdown. However, the Cheetah’s starring appearance cost him $7,000 for a strange reason.

In his interview with The Palm Beach Post, Hill revealed that the NFL is trying to take off $7,000 from his pocket for not wearing any socks during the Broncos matchup. Even though he played without socks against Denver, it didn’t have any effect on his performance or outcome of the game as he and the Dolphins annihilated the struggling Broncos.

Tyreek Hill’s Sockless Game Gets Expensive

Hill opened the party against the Broncos with a 30-a-yard touchdown. Despite scoring only one touchdown, the 1x Super Bowl winner had a great game with 9 receptions for 157 yards and caught 7 passes. During the first touchdown, Tyreek had no socks on, therefore, the NFL fined him $7000 for the infraction. Speaking to the Palm Beach Post about the infraction, he said-

“I got fined, though, for my socks. So in the Broncos game, the first touchdown, I didn’t have any socks on at all,” Hill said. “But I was getting an IV and I didn’t want to be late for the play. So I didn’t have time to put on my socks.”

He says he will be appealing to the NFL and hopes to get the fine reduced,  “It was like $7,000, but I’m appealing and when I appeal it’s probably going to get reduced….crazy.”

$40,000,000 Reasons Why Tyreek Has Nothing To Worry About

Even though Tyreek feels the $7000 fine is excessive, paying it wouldn’t put a dent in his vast fortune. Tyreek is one of the best WRs around and that kind of talent rewards itself.

According to celebritynetworth.com, Hill is worth $40,000,000. A 165th Draft pick in the 2016 draft, Tyreek signed a 4-year contract worth $2,800,000 with the Kansas City Chiefs. This included a $ 70,000 signing bonus. In 2019, he signed a $54,000,000 3-year contract extension with the Chiefs. After the completion of his deal, he was traded to the Miami Dolphins where he signed the largest 4-year WR contract in NFL history worth $120,000,000 with $72,000,000 in guaranteed money.

Aside from the NFL contracts, Hill endorses brands like Adidas, Hublot, AutoNation, G.O.A.T Fuel sports energy, and NFL Tuesday night gaming. Further, he has business interests in Grip Boost – a company that produces gloves. He also owns Soul Runner and has a Podcast- It Needed To Be Said. With all this money in his bank account $7000 seems like nothing, but he still isn’t about to pay that much for a pair of socks.
