"Patrick Mahomes Acted Good": 5 Months After Super Bowl LVII Loss, Eagles' Star D.E Makes Scathing Remarks on the Chiefs QB

In the highly anticipated Super Bowl LVII, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes showcased his exceptional skills, leading his team to a heroic comeback victory. Despite trailing by 10 points at halftime, Mahomes orchestrated a remarkable second-half surge, rallying his team to register a stunning win. Mahomes completed an impressive 77.8% of his passes, going 21 for 27 with 182 passing yards. He showcased his exceptional arm strength and accuracy, connecting with his receivers for three touchdowns and zero interceptions.

While Super Bowl LVII is still widely discussed for the Kansas City Chiefs’ remarkable comeback and display of grit, 5 months after the grand contest, Philadelphia Eagles’ star defensive end Brandon Graham has offered a contrasting perspective on the game. Graham’s viewpoint sheds light on certain aspects that may have gone unnoticed amidst the praise for the Chiefs’ resilience.

Brandon Graham’s Insights on Mahomes and the Turf: A Different View of Super Bowl LVII

In a surprising take on Super Bowl LVII on the JAKIB Sports’ “Sports Take” podcast, Philadelphia Eagles’ star defensive end Brandon Graham shared his thoughts on Patrick Mahomes and the field conditions during the game. Graham suggested that Mahomes may have exaggerated the severity of his ankle injury during the game, implying that the quarterback’s reaction was a well-acted performance.

He said, “(Patrick) went in there on the sideline (and) he’s looking like he’s hurt. Get him, we gotta get to him. And he came out, you can tell how tough he is but that boy acted good. He sure put that face up like (he was hurting).”

Furthermore, Graham raised concerns about the field conditions at State Farm Stadium, noting that the slippery turf worked in Kansas City’s favor. He pointed out specific instances where defensive plays by the Eagles were hindered due to slips on the field. He said, “When we looked at the film, there was a couple of times where if Sweaty (defensive end Josh Sweat) don’t slip, boy, strip-sack. Especially that first drive, that first drive where he threw it across the middle to (Travis) Kelce. He was right there, man, he slipped. We could not believe it… We gonna get that on the get-back. It’s coming back.”

Mahomes’ Savvy Replies: From ‘Pat Who?’ to ‘That’s Who’

Patrick Mahomes has encountered his fair share of playful jabs from opposing players. Most recently, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase referred to him as ‘Pat Who?’ in response to Joe Burrow acknowledging Mahomes as the best quarterback in the NFL. However, Mahomes didn’t shy away from the challenge and delivered a tremendous reply. Mahomes, known for his natural charm and charisma, swiftly responded by tweeting a photo of himself wearing his two Super Bowl rings, accompanied by the bold statement, “That’s who.”

Given Mahomes’ history of responding to such comments with poise and wit, it wouldn’t be surprising if he addresses Brandon Graham’s take on the Super Bowl LVII field conditions. Rather than letting such comments affect him negatively, he uses them as an opportunity to further solidify his place as a top-tier quarterback.
