“The Most Accurate Quarterback I’ve Seen This Year”: NFL Draft Experts Impressed With Shedeur Sanders’ Season, Particularly His USC Game

Shedeur Sanders, who is making waves in college football, propelled the Buffaloes to three big wins in five games this season. He’s been a game-changer for Deion Sanders and his team, impressing everyone in Boulder as the ideal QB1. The 21-year-old’s performance, except for the Oregon game, leaves NFL draft experts amazed by his talent.

Deion Sanders’ son has emerged as a compelling NFL Draft quarterback prospect. Recently, on the First Draft podcast, featuring Filed Yates, Matt Miller, and Jordan Reid, experts dissected the quarterback scene, with Sanders taking center stage in the conversation.

First Draft Podcast Puts Spotlight on Shedeur Sanders’ NFL Draft Potential

To begin with, Jordan Ried expressed his admiration for Shedeur Sanders, highlighting his exceptional qualities. Ried, a former quarterback, commended Sanders for his remarkable accuracy, ranking him as the best in the class. He praised Deion Sanders’ son for his strategic approach to coverage and his ability to thrive in the spotlight.

“I’ve been blown away by Shedeur Sanders. I’ve really enjoyed diving into his film.” Ried stated as per Dan Morrison of On3, “A lot of times being Deion Sanders‘ kid, being in the spotlight, all eyes are on you. The whole nation watches you, and he loves it. He thrives off of that.”

Jordan Ried made a favorable comparison between Sanders and Geno Smith, highlighting Shedeur’s poise, precision, accuracy, and clutch performance in games, pointing up his unprecedented football IQ. On the other hand, Matt Miller compared Shedeur to Tua Tagovailoa, current QB of Miami Dolphins.

“He’s so surgical and accurate and the touch passes are there, and he’s poised, like Tua, he’s not exceptionally mobile but he’s gonna give you something. I think Shedeur’s probably a better runner just because he doesn’t have the injury history of a Tua right now.” Said Miller on the podcast.

Shedeur Garners NFL Draft Comparisons to Heisman Champ Caleb Williams

Shedeur Sanders, once a three-star recruit and the 33rd-ranked quarterback in the 2021 class per On3 Consensus Rankings, began his college journey at Jackson State under the guidance of his father, Deion Sanders. Later, he made a move to Colorado following his father’s job change.

NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller articulated profound praise for Shedeur Sanders. He noted that he’s the most impressive player he’s seen this season. Miller highlights Shedeur’s exceptional field vision and accuracy, even in challenging situations such as meeting his offensive lineman just two weeks before the season started.

“I’m with you guys, the most accurate quarterback I’ve seen this year. His field vision, and he doesn’t have seven seconds to throw like Caleb Williams, his field vision has been phenomenal.” Added Matt Miller.

While acknowledging Shedeur’s talent, Miller stops short of placing him as high as some other might in the NFL Draft rankings. Additionally, Miller doesn’t believe Shedeur will declare for the NFL Draft after this season. He anticipates Shedeur remaining with the Buffaloes to contribute to the program’s development.
