Tom Brady Once Professed His Love for Ugg Slippers Despite Getting Picked On by Other Players

The seven-time Super Bowl winner, Tom Brady, has the world at his fingertips because of his massive wealth. Even though he is a man who has always raved about how much he loves football, TB12 can’t stay away from fashion and everything related to it. So much so that he now has his own brand, BRADY, which specializes in athleisure wear. However, years before he entered the fashion game, Brady had a favorite shoe for which he got ribbed by his fellow teammates and the media.

When UGG was first introduced to the market, the general public thought that it was not particularly pretty-looking footwear. However, the ubiquitous stumpy sheepskin boots started attracting a lot of attention when there was a change in attitude. That is when Tampa Tom could convince everyone that his fashion sense was better than everybody else’s because, for him, comfort is key.

His confession about his beloved brand of footwear came at a very difficult time in his life. In 2015, a former New England Patriots quarterback was accused of deflating a football when he and his team were playing against the Indianapolis Colts. The result was such that he was suspended from playing in the league for four games, but the decision was overturned.

During this time, a successful advertisement campaign for UGG was released, in which Brady posed as the face of the brand. The name of the campaign was “Do Nothing,” like he was doing nothing and waiting for his suspension to end. When asked about why he was so in love with the unpleasant-looking shoes, He said:

“I’ve been wearing the slippers since I was 13 or 14 years old, when I got my first pair that my mom bought me. And I’ve been wearing them ever since,” Brady said as per USA TODAY.

The four-time MVP winner then said that he only wore UGGs at his house because those were the only kind of slippers that his former supermodel wife, Gisele Bündchen, allowed him to wear.

Future HOF-er likes to give away shoes to his close friends and family members

It is a given that the face of the brand gets extra pairs of UGGs. At his house in Brookline, Massachusetts, he had a bench where he kept every size of UGG one could imagine. What does he do with them? Well, the iconic QB likes to take care of his teammates and family members. Hence, those who come to his casa sometimes get to try on a pair or even take one away with them!

“I’ve given away a lot of pairs to a lot of friends. They better take good care of me because I always take good care of them. They always get a nice gift over the course of the year whether it’s the boots or the slippers, they wear them the whole season,” he jokingly said.

Brady described him as a casual dresser hence, there are some pieces of clothing that he deems his essentials.

Items like “a pair of jeans, a t shirt, hat, pair of sunglasses, and then some music to listen to” are his favorite.
