Travis Hunter Reveals How Deion Sanders Made the Whole Team Practice Rigorously, Allowing Just a Couple of Hours of Sleep to the Players After Defeat Against Stanford

Colorado Buffaloes’ defeat to Stanford was a nightmare come true for Deion Sanders and his sons. The unbelievable 29-point lead was blown to pieces, upsetting Coach Prime. As expected, known for his militarizing regime, Deion Sanders punished the team with an early morning practice on Saturday after a late night game on Friday.

In his latest episode of 12 Talks‘ via Bleacher Report, Travis Hunter explained how the team was made to practice with just 2 hours of sleep by Deion Sanders after their forgettable Stanford matchup.

Travis Hunter Reveals Deion Sanders’ Tenacious Approach after Recent Loss

The Colorado versus Stanford was a crucial game for the Buffs. It mattered even more as the star quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver Travis Hunter reunited after Hunter’s recovery. However, the Stanford record remained unblemished even after the 29-point lead attained by the Buffs. As one can expect, it was only a matter of time until Deion Sanders made his team work doubly hard to improve their gameplay.

Travis Hunter, in the latest episode of ‘12 Talks with Travis Hunter’, addresses a video showing Deion Sanders delivering an enlightening speech. He attempts to make the Colorado Buffaloes realize how their performance was below the mark, saying,

“You’re not gonna be taken care of. You’re not gonna be looked after, you’re not gonna gave the luxuries all of this. And you’re gonna get out there and get it on your own and work your b*tt off. Ain’t nobody going to give you nothing. I don’t you understand what this world is consist of. What we just did today was pathetic. All the love that you receive, oh, you get ready to see that flip.

Coach Prime also advises the young players to understand that they need to refrain from engaging with any negative comments on social media, all before announcing an early morning practice. He added, “Don’t get beside yourself on social media and start responding to foolishness because they right. And we’re practicing tomorrow.”

In the same video, Travis Hunter mentioned that the practice the next day was not only intense but after minimal sleep. It sent the message loud and clear- they needed to be better and on track. “That practice the next day was crazy though. We got only a couple of hours to sleep for real, woke up, time to go back to practice. But that’s what we needed though, had to get us back on the right track,” Travis added.

Deion Sanders overhauled the Buffaloes program with his creative use of the transfer portal transitioning in December 2022. His induction of better names to the roster achieved him three straight opening wins in the season. However, in Week 8 of the season, the Buffs stand at 4-3 with an upsetting loss against Stanford Cardinal.

Colorado vs. UCLA: Coach Prime Leads the Team’s Rise Above Media Distractions

The media has been a bag of mixed reactions when it comes to Deion Sanders and the Colorado team. While a reporter recently gave words of encouragement to Deion Sanders’s Shedeur during post game press meet, not all have been kind. However, Coach Prime’s charismatic personality has anyways brought in a lot of positive attention to the Buffs.

Inspired by his coach Deion, team’s WR Travis Hunter also confesses in the ‘12 Talks with Travis Hunter’ video that he aims to remain head-fast and pays less attention to the media’s opinions. He remains focused on the work rather than letting the criticism affect their performance. “Nobody pay attention to the media anyways. We let people talk when we lose or when we win. It doesn’t bother us. It doesn’t get to us, so I just let them talk. I really don’t care. I known I gotta go get back in and go to work. That’s it,” Hunter said.

The Colorado Buffaloes are set to face UCLA on Oct. 28, 2023, in California. All eyes are set on Coach Prime as he shall lead the team to stand back on their feet.
