Will McDonald NFL Draft: Insider Raves About DE’s “Bendability” While Fans Urge New York to Trade Up
Will McDonald IV, the Wisconsin born defensive end, has been roped in by the New York Jets as the 15th overall in the ongoing 2023 NFL draft. Known for his outstanding athletic abilities which allowed him to excel in track & field, baseball, and football is his early days, McDonald was named the Big-12 co-Defensive Lineman of The Year in 2021 which forced a lot of people to take notice of him.
Moreover, several experts have already started explaining how the 6ft 4in tall DE is going to benefit the team from New York. “Will McDonald has the best bendability of any pass rusher in the draft,” NFL Networks’ Daniel Jeremiah stated after the Jets announced their pick.
Jets fans don’t think Will McDonald is the right pick for the team
While there is no doubt about the fact that McDonald is an incredible talent, there have been a lot of chatter about him being under-size. Daniel highlighted that although Will weighs only 239 lb, when he showed up on campus, he weighed around 206 lb. This shows that he has constantly worked hard on improving himself.
While Insider Jeremiah couldn’t stop expressing how good a fit McDonald will be in New York by raving about his absolutely wicked spin moves, fans termed his selection as an “irresponsible pick.” Some even went on to urge the franchise to trade up for Jaxon Smith-Nijgba.
