Nicolas Tagliafico to Real Madrid

Nicolas Tagliafico is seen as Marcelo’s replacement by Florentino Perez and Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are planning for a complete revamp in the summer transfer window as they plan to bring in new faces in a view of long term. Following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Los Blancos looked disorganized and struggled for results, but Santiago Solari has implemented his system which is working very well in recent months.

The reigning European champions are looking to ship off the likes of Marcelo, Isco, and Keylor Navas. The trio looks to be heading the exit door in the summer window and there have been strong links with Juventus for the Brazilian full-back.

Amidst the interest from the Italian outfit, Marcelo’s former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly spoken about the possibility of a reunion at Turin after the Portuguese superstar left the Los Blancos last summer. Even during the interviews, Marcelo says he misses Cristiano Ronaldo in his team a lot.

With potential interest from the reigning Italian Champions, Florentino Perez looks to have identified a replacement for the 30-year-old to cash in on him before it’s too late. Real Madrid see Nicolas Tagliafico as one of the candidates to replace Marcelo at Santiago Bernabeu, the Argentine’s agent says.

Speaking to the Radio Rivadavia, Tagliafico’s agent Ricardo Schlieper says “It’s said that Tagliafico’s name has been included on Real Madrid’s shortlist because Marcelo will join Juventus.

“However, no-one’s called me yet, even if there have been enquiries from other teams. He has two years left on his contract and he has no release clause, but Ajax have set a minimum price for the top European clubs.

“Which teams are they? All I can say is that among them, there’s a big Spanish club. That said, I think it’s the right time for Tagliafico to step up a level.”

The Argentine International joined Ajax from Independiente last summer and it has been a meteoric rise in European football for the 26-year-old. The Ajax defender has been watched by many scouts including Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Inter Milan.

There have been no fees mentioned for the full back. But, the Dutch club will be ready to sell him for an extortionate price in the forthcoming summer window as Real Madrid prepare themselves to battle out for the left back.
