Niki Lauda is in artificial coma after lung transplantation
Niki Lauda’s health has been a cause for concern in the F1 fraternity, as the summer flu that he had caught in Ibiza got a little serious after moving to Vienna, where he needed an urgent lung transplantation.
Following his lung transplantation(an operation that went well), Lauda is in artificial coma in a bid to recover from the successful lung transplant.
“Everything is going very well at the moment and we are very satisfied.” the doctors in Vienna said.
Lauda’s health had gotten bad during his holiday, where in he suffered from a flu that had caused his family to take him to Vienna.
In Vienna the lung transplant went through well with the doctors pretty happy with Lauda’s progress.
However, the word ‘coma’ isn’t really well received in the world, especially in the F1 fraternity these days, as Sergio Marchionne passed away after being in coma.
But with respect to the coma that Lauda is in, there doesn’t seem to be a lot to worry about, however, F1 fans would breathe easy only after he is completely out of this ‘health situation’.
Niki Lauda recovered from that terrible Nürburgring crash in 1976, wherein he suffered strong burns.
He came back from that strong enough and F1 fans would be hoping that he can bounce back from this soon enough too, so that he can return to the F1 paddock, something he enjoys the fullest.
Until then, let’s hope he and his family have the strength to deal with his health hazard and can recover in the best way possible.
