Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager: The Norwegian could join as interim manager at Old Trafford after Mourinho’s departure.

Jose Mourinho left Manchester United after the 3-1 loss against Liverpool, as the club announced his departure earlier today. Manchester United released an official statement to announce the decision, and thanked Mourinho for his services.

Jose Mourinho won three trophies at Manchester United, which include the club’s first ever Europa League title, the EFL Cup and the Community Shield.

Manchester United finished second in the Premier League in Mourinho’s second season, but failed to capitalize on it.

The club also stated that it is under process to appoint a caretaker manager. While MEN has reported that Michael Carrick or Nicky Butt will not be in-charge for Manchester United, early reports are claiming that a familiar face could return to Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskaer as interim manager:

Mark Ogden from the ESPN has reported that the former Manchester United forward is considered as a possibility to take over as interim manager.

The Norwegian, as a player, scored 128 goals for Manchester United during his 10 years at the club, before hanging up his boots.

Solskjaer is currently in-charge of Molde in Norway, but Mirror has also reported that the Old Trafford side has made initial contact with the former Manchester United forward.

Solskjaer had a rather ill-fated spell in England with Cardiff City, where he managed to win only 9 of the 30 games.

Meanwhile, Laurent Blanc is also being considered. MEN has reported that Manchester United will have a new manager before the game against Cardiff on the weekend.

The club is currently 6th in the Premier League and has only scored 26 points from 17 games. However, Manchester United qualified for the round of 16 of the Champions League, where they face Paris Saint Germain.

United await a hectic festive season as the side plays Cardiff City, Huddersfield and Bournemouth this year.
