Euro Fantasy Tips: France vs Germany

Portugal scripted a brilliant win over Wales last night as Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up for his side in the crunch semi finals. Ronaldo scored a header and assisted the second goal, as within 3 minutes the well-balanced game toppled in Portugals’s favour.

Gareth Bale and co. have caught the imagination of the world with their performance at the Euros but were unable to break through the stout Portuguese defence last night thereby getting ousted from the tournament.

On the Fantasy front it was a mixed bag night as Ronaldo got me 8 points but Bale couldn’t muster anything significant. Renato came out with a clean sheet, which is decent enough for a buy worth just 4.5 million.

Let’s get to business now!

Now, I already have Hugo Lloris, Hector, Bacary Sagna, Mesut Ozil, Dmitri Payet, Paul Pogba and Antoinne Griezmann in my side.

The first player that I get in is Julian Draxler. He comes in for Gareth Bale who could deliver just a solitary point last night. Bale was well dealt with by the Portuguese holding midfielder and defenders as he couldn’t get any clear cut attempts on goal. Also, he took a yellow card for his reckless challenge towards the end of the game and thus I don’t see any reason to keep him in my starting XI.

Julian Draxler did not make the starting XI in the game against Italy but that was a tactical move by Low and he should be in the starting XI for tonight’s game. Get him in!

The second player that I bring in is Adil Rami. He comes in for Neil Taylor who couldn’t get a clean sheet last night and also didn’t contribute offensively. Wales crashed out of the semis and so does he from my fantasy starting XI.

Adil Rami has been a brilliant defensive partner for Koscielny and their defensive pairing has looked impenetrable for most parts. Against a lackluster German strike force, you could expect France to get a clean sheet.

Captain: Antoinne Griezmann

Griezmann was brilliant in the game against Iceland, assisting two goals and scoring a sublime chip. Against a depleted German defence, Griezmann could be on the scoresheet again. He seems the more likely player than Pogba and Payet, who would have to do something extraordinary to beat Neuer.

Happy team picking!
