Ole Solskjaer gets furious on Jesse Lingard before subbing him off

Ole Solskjaer shows anger on Jese Lingard before subbing him off in the match against Manchester City, as the player carelessly gave the ball away.

Manchester United won against Manchester City at the Etihad but failed to overcome them on the aggregate score. But that was not good enough reason to make Ole Solskjaer furious tonight.

Rather it was Jesse Lingard, who has already been a victim of massive criticism by the fans for his poor form. The English International started against Manchester city and apart from winning a free-kick which led to the only goal in the game, Lingard had a poor game.

At one point Solskjaer was seen screaming at him about giving the ball away, before subbing him off minutes later. Lingard had just given the ball away in City’s half, trying to find teammate Fred, and City had used the moment to break up the pitch.

Raheem Sterling broke into the United box and looked to be one-on-one with David de Gea but the Spaniard closed his space so the forward tried to get around him.

By the time he did, there were defenders on the line and he blasted it over the bar, leading to Solskjaer’s tirade. Just minutes later Lingard was replaced by Andreas Pereira.

If these things were not frustrating enough, the Norweigan International also had to face the blow of Nemanja Matic picking the red card, just when the momentum was turning towards the Red Devils.

Manchester City manages to escape the elimination from the league cup with their local rivals just inches away from taking the tie to the penalties. However, even the Citizens were close to sealing the tie as Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero did find the net.

But their goals were ruled out since both were spotted offside correctly. Despite all of it, Manchester City has qualified for the final match, which will be played against Aston Villa.
