The first T20I of the imminent Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan will be played on January 24 in Lahore. It required an elongated conversation on the part of the Pakistan Cricket Board to convince the Bangladesh Cricket Board to confirm the tour after it was nearly canceled due to security reasons.
Despite being played across three months, the tour will involve three T20Is, two Test matches and a one-off ODI. After playing three T20Is and the first Test in this leg, the tour will be continued in the subsequent months for the remaining ODI and the second Test.
Much like all other T20I series from this point in time, this one will also be played with focus on the ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia later this year.
Pakistan, who are the No. 1 ranked T20I side at the moment, will be looking to justify their ranking while not taking the No. 9 ranked Bangladesh lightly by any means.
