So it’s official!

Philippe Coutinho has managed to force his move to FC Barcelona, as Jurgen Klopp could no longer hold on to his talisman. The Brazilian was desperate to leave Anfield, as Coutinho did not want to play for Liverpool any more.

The transfer fee, which can go up to 160 million, makes Coutinho the second most expensive player in the history of the game. The move will come as a terrible blow to Liverpool fans, as Coutinho was a fan favourite during his time in Merseyside.

Coutinho wanted to leave Liverpool in the summer, as he felt that after Neymar’s departure, he could easily fit in at the Nou Camp. But Liverpool held firm, as Klopp was in no move to let his number 10 leave the club.

Eventually though, Liverpool had to let Coutinho go, as they know need to reinvest the fortune that they received from the Brazilian’s departure.

This will come as a huge blow to Liverpool’s top four aspirations, as they are a much weaker team without Coutinho’s presence.

Barcelona are flying high in the league, as the Catalan side are 19 points off Real Madrid and are well on their way to winning la liga.

With a favourable draw in the Champions league, Barcelona could have a very successful season this year. Coutinho though will have to wait for his chance to run out on the Nou Camp, as he has suffered a thigh strain that will rule him out for at at least 20 days.

Clearly exciting days ahead for Barcelona fans!
